This task order is representative of the caliber of work that Blackhawk performed on under a MATOC contract for the USACE, Fort Worth District.

This project was a Task Order under the SWD MATOC awarded to Blackhawk by the Corps of Engineers. Blackhawk oversaw the Designer of Record, RS&H, in providing a design for the renovation of the three story, 49,500sf headquarter building, 1st Calvary Division at Fort Hood, Texas.

Blackhawk oversaw an asbestos abatement prior to the renovation and then provided a fast tracked, phased project in an effort to keep the facilities functional while construction was in progress. The scope included new finishes in the corridors and common areas as well as in the command suite on the third floor. Replacement of an elevator and ten air handler units, the addition of split system AC units in the six telecom rooms, and existing and new fire caulking penetrations were also included. Locker rooms were added, bathrooms renovated, and upgrades were made to the reception area at the entrance of the facility. Bamboo flooring, doors and hardware, and energy efficient lighting were installed as part of the interior finishes. A high voltage electrical system was also added. To bring the building up to LEED requirements, the building envelope, HVAC systems, mechanical, electrical, and lighting were brought up to specifications.
